Paralegal Expert

AfterQuery is seeking Paralegal Experts to create and refine legal support challenges for training AI models. In this remote, flexible role, you will design and evaluate legal research and document preparation scenarios that test the AI's ability to interpret and apply complex legal procedures, ensuring that our models can navigate real-world legal research, case management, and litigation support with precision and practical insight. Your expertise will help bridge the gap between proven paralegal practice and innovative AI solutions, making a tangible impact on the future of legal technology.

What you'll do

• Develop high-quality paralegal questions and case studies that challenge AI models on topics such as legal research, citation formats, document drafting, discovery management, trial preparation, client communication, case file organization, and more.
• Evaluate and validate model responses, offering detailed feedback to ensure accuracy and adherence to paralegal best practices and legal standards.
• Collaborate with a team of legal and technical experts to fine-tune question difficulty and ensure content is both challenging and educational.

Requirements

• Associate degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies, or bachelor's degree with paralegal certification.
• Proven experience working as a paralegal with a robust understanding of legal research, document preparation, and case management.
• Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Nice to have

• Multiple years of paralegal experience, ideally across diverse practice areas (litigation, corporate, real estate, family law, etc.).
• Prior involvement in legal technology initiatives, legal training programs, or process improvement projects.
• Advanced paralegal certifications (CP, ACP, RP) or specialized legal training is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI or technology-driven legal applications is a plus.
